Overview of Position:
As a Designer you will take a more active role in assisting the Store Design team in the development of standardized design packages for all new and remodel stores. You will have full responsibility for administering smaller projects. Following are some of the specific responsibilities of the job:
Key Accountabilities:
 | Help to refine a design turnover package while standardizing an approach to design development that will enable the design group to efficiently handle a larger volume of work. |
 | Assist the Senior Designer in the design/implementation of all assigned projects using the guidelines established in best practice, the A and B store formats, and other agreed-upon criteria. |
 | Develop an understanding of the needs of the store divisions in terms of design and budget for all assigned projects. Serve as mediator between Macy's, Inc. and the store divisions to satisfy the goals and objectives of both. |
 | Support the Senior Designer in working with consultants to insure compliance to design turnover packages. |
 | Help develop a collaborative relationship among Store Design, Store Planning, and Store Construction in order to facilitate a continuous and smooth completion of all assigned projects. |
Skills Summary:
 | Four year, undergraduate degree in a discipline of the arts (Architecture, Interior Design, Fine Arts, Design, etc.). |
 | Three or more years work experience in an architecture or design environment, preferably retail architecture or design. |
 | Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel. |
 | Outstanding oral and written communication skills. |
 | Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment juggling multiple projects and priorities. |
 | Ability to manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. |
 | Ability to develop and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships. |
