Overview of Position:
The Junior Store Planner position is the entry-level position in the Store Planning department. As a Junior Store Planner you will assist the Store Planning team in developing merchandise and floor plans for all new and remodel stores. Following are some of the specific responsibilities of the job:
Key Accountabilities:
 | Participate in the development of block plans and merchandise plans with respect to project scope and budget. |
 | Assist the Senior Planner in the preparation of merchandise meetings with store divisions in order to develop merchandise and fixture plans that conform to project criteria. |
 | Interact with Macy's, Inc. personnel at all levels for the review, approval, and incorporation of Macy's, Inc. standards into assigned projects. |
 | Assist the Senior Planner in reviewing consultant drawings for compliance to established Macy's, Inc. CAD drawing standards. |
 | Under the supervision of a Senior Planner or Director, interpret merchandise meeting information and input into CAD. |
 | Develop and administer minor projects. |
Skills Summary:
 | Four year, undergraduate degree in a discipline of the arts (Architecture, Interior Design, Fine Arts, Design, etc.). |
 | Co-op or intern experience in a retail planning environment. |
 | Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel. |
 | Outstanding oral and written communication skills. |
 | Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment juggling multiple projects and priorities. |
