Overview of Position:
As Operating Vice President, Store Planning, you will be responsible for the conceptual direction and productivity of the Store Planning department. You will direct and coordinate all operations including assignment of projects, budgeting, and staffing of the department. Some of your direct responsibilities include:
Key Accountabilities:
 | Assume the primary role in the development of the scope definition of all assigned projects. |
| Direct the store planning organization in the planning and merchandising aspects of all assigned projects. |
| Select and retain consultants and direct the development of documents for assigned projects. |
| Work with Macy's, Inc. Real Estate to help develop potential projects. |
| Administer the development and maintenance of Macy's, Inc. standards in coordination with other Macy's, Inc. executives. |
| Provide overall supervision of Store Planning Department, including training and coaching, performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and conflict resolution. |
| Plan, forecast, and monitor budget and staffing needs. |
Skills Summary:
| Four year, undergraduate degree in a discipline of the arts (Architecture, Interior Design, Fine Arts, Design, etc.). Masters degree is preferable. |
| More than ten years of architectural or planning experience in a retail environment, with the last five years being spent in a supervisory role. |
| Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel. |
| Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior level executives and the vendor community. |
| Prior experience planning, forecasting, and monitoring budgets and staffing. |
| Ability to direct and effectively coach a team of people. |
