Overview of Position:
As a Senior Store Planner you will direct a team of store planning professionals in the development of merchandise and floor plans for all assigned new and remodel store projects. You will have full responsibility for managing those assigned projects. Following are some of the specific responsibilities of the job:
Key Accountabilities:
 | Develop block plans and merchandise plans with respect to project scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects. Participate in the merchandise plan development meetings with store divisions. |
 | Conduct the final merchandise plan, elevation/details, and fixture bible review with the store divisions. Review consultants' drawings for completeness and accuracy as they relate to final merchandise plans. |
 | Interface with Macy's, Inc. personnel of all levels for the development of construction documents as they relate to merchandise plans, including vendor shop and fixture information, for all assigned projects. |
 | Interface with Macy's, Inc. personnel of all levels for the review, approval, and incorporation of change orders and scope revisions into the construction documents for all assigned projects. |
 | Research competitors' fixture and merchandising strategies and maintain a reference library. Be proactive in scrutinizing areas of improvement or intensification for the merchandise plans. |
Skills Summary:
 | Four year, undergraduate degree in a discipline of the arts (Architecture, Interior Design, Fine Arts, Design, etc.). |
 | Seven or more years of architectural or planning experience in a retail environment. |
 | Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel. |
 | Outstanding oral and written communication skills. |
 | Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment juggling multiple projects and priorities. |
 | Ability to manage projects from start to finish with little or no supervision. |
 | Ability to motivate and supervise a team of less experienced planners. |
