Beginning on Day 1 of employment, the training process begins.

All new hires in all types of positions are provided a comprehensive company orientation, delivered in a variety of ways - including one-on-one conversations, group classroom sessions and computer-based modules. Topics include a company overview, its mission, history and philosophies, policies and procedures, and organizational responsibilities. A critical part of the orientation is a review of learning opportunities for new members of the organization. Some of those opportunities are:

Associate/Hourly Positions

  • On the job training to improve your technical abilities.

  • Computer skills improvement for everyone not already proficient in programs such as Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.

  • Access to a catalog of courses covering subjects such as project management and budgeting to improve yourself as a leader and as a professional.

  • Systems training to orient you to the various programs that keep our centers moving.

Executive positions

  • On an annual basis, executives have the opportunity to attend workshops in developmental topics, designed to enhance interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Each year a catalogue of professional development courses are available to all executives.

  • Once a person has reached the level of Operating Vice President, they qualify for attendance at the award-winning The Leadership Institute, which provides advanced training in leadership skills.

  • Six Sigma skills training is an important part of an executive's learning. For those selected as Black Belts (Project Leaders) or other team roles (Green Belts/Champion) - rigorous training in tools required by the Six Sigma methodology including measurement and statistical analysis tools as well as leadership and project management tools. In addition, team and leadership skills courses are offered to support the Six Sigma process.

"I've gone through so many training classes since I started here (seven in one year). I had learned about a lot of these things in graduate school, but this training is more specific to this company. It's been wonderful; it's been extremely helpful in day-to-day work activities. Everybody who participates in training feels very positive about it. It enhances your ability to do the job, and it makes you more marketable."
