What are the steps in the interview process?
Once you have submitted your applicant profile, our Human Resource Department will determine if your resumé fits the position for which you have applied. If there is a match you will hear from us within 1-2 weeks of submitting your application. The interview process will depend upon the position for which you have applied.

What training can I expect if I join the company?
We have extensive training classes that cover both management skills and technical skills for each individual position in our organization. We believe in making sure that we give our employees the best training in order to help them perform at their highest level.

What are the opportunities for advancement?
Our company believes in promotion from within. Your supervisor and human resources will play a large role in understanding your career interest and developing an action plan to help meet your goals. In addition, we post all of our open opportunities on the company intranet site to make them available to our associates. We are advocates of rewarding our employees for great performance.

Do I need to have prior experience in retail?
It is not necessary, but it is preferred.

Does Macy's Merchandising Group offer any assistance with continuing education?
MMG has a tuition reimbursement program for continuing education for employees who are with the company for one year or more. The classes are approved based on whether or not they pertain to the job that you have been hired for. Reimbursement is based on the grade you receive in the class.

What are the standard benefit policies?
All benefits only pertain to Full Time employees:

• Health, Dental and Life Insurance benefits are available after 6 months of continuous service.

• 401(k) and pension plans are available after 1 year of continuous service in which you have worked 1000 hours.
